My research focuses on Alzheimer´s Disease, specifically the amyloid-beta induced lipid membrane penetration mechanism. I am developing a microfluidic platform to generate giant unilamellar vesicles that can act as models for neuronal plasma membranes. I will also investigate the role of different apolipoprotein E (ApoE) variants, in particular the ApoE4 variant, a significant genetic risk factor, analyzing the therapeutic potential of ApoE4 stabilizers.
