Semih received both his B.Sc and M.Sc degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Bogazici University (Istanbul, Turkey), respectively in 2013 and 2016. As a bachelor student, he carried out his research on  “Ultra-stable molecular force spectroscopy with micromachined transducers (UTMOST)” project, funded by EC-FP7 Marie Curie Actions. In his master study, he worked on the “Magnetic Nano Actuators for Quantitative Analysis (MANAQA)” project, funded by EC (ICT FET-Open). He obtained his master degree by completing his thesis, entitled as “Design of a modified AFM setup with miniaturized-magnetic particle actuators for biomolecular applications”. From January 2017, he joined deMello group as a Ph.D student.
