Yun earned his Bachelor’s degree in Pharmaceutical Engineering at Zhejiang University, China, in 2009. Before he started the MSc program in Chemical and Bioengineering at ETH Zurich in 2010, he interned as an assistant editor at an independent online news media that covered news mattering to Chinese civil society. He finished his Master Thesis at Prof. Nelson’s group in IRIS, ETH Zurich, in 2012, with a topic related to microrobotics in the biomedical application. After that, he joined the Prof. deMello’s group as a PhD student. His research focuses on developing high efficient droplet-based microfluidic systems for processing next generation high-throughput biological and chemical experimentations.
