I am developing minimally invasive diagnostics for malignant brain tumors. My goal is to develop a microfluidic device to isolate tumor-derived extracellular vesicles from whole blood using inertial microfluidics, viscoelastic microfluidics and immunocapture. This project is a collaboration with the Weiss lab at the University Hospital of Zurich. I am also developing a lateral flow assay for the detection of tumor-derived extracellular vesicles. If successful, brain cancer could be detected using only a drop of blood and a piece of paper!
