I am working on a diagnostic platform based on viscoelastic Deformability Cytometry (vDC) that enables high-throughput, real-time analysis of malignant cells directly from whole blood samples. The platform leverages the ability of vDC to mechanically phenotype cells through measurement of their deformability and size, distinguishing malignant cells such as those found in leukemia and lymphoma from healthy counterparts with high sensitivity and specificity. The adoption of vDC for whole blood analysis has the potential to transform cancer diagnostics by providing rapid, cost-effective, and high-throughput results that are directly applicable in clinical settings.
