On 16th September, Andrew gave Mendel Lectures titled "Rise of the Micromachines: Biology on the Small Scale" at the Mendel Museum in Brno ☍. The Mendel Lectures are named after Gregor Johann Mendel (1822-1884), the father of genetics, who resided and worked in Brno's Augustinian Abbey between 1843 and 1884. Since 2003, over 100 scientists from genetics, molecular biology, biochemistry, bioengineering, cell biology, and medicine have delivered this renowned lecture in Brno.
